Abstract

1,176,085. Pipe couplings. WAVIN N.V. 5 April, 1967 [26 April, 1966], No. 15645/67. Heading F2G. A coupling part 1 has an internal, radial, centrally orificed partition 3 forming a seat for an axially movable valve 5 mounted on a rod 8 passing through the orifice 4, and a coupling part 2 has a flat end face 2a which, when the part 2 is inserted in the part 1, thrusts the perforated plate 9 on the rod 8 against the partition 3 to lift the valve from the seat thereof. The plate 9 has a diameter greater than that of the partition orifice, and there are means such as a spring-loaded locking link pivoted on the part 2 and for maintaining the parts 1, 2 in a coupled condition, the link engaging over the shoulder 15 of the part 1. An annular recess 11 in the part 1 receives a packing ring 12, and a gasket 7 is disposed around the seating of the conical valve 5 provided with guide tongues 6.
