978,107. Pipe couplings. H. HALBACH, E. BRAUN, and G. BRAUN, [trading as HALBACH & BRAUN]. Dec. 9, 1963 [Jan. 31, 1963], No. 48446/63. Heading F2G. A plug-in connection comprises a nipplehousing 3 for insertion into a pressure-line 2 containing a valve 4 loaded with a spring 5, a socketed connector 7 to receive a plug 8 on the hose 6 to be connected, the plug 8 serving to move the valve 4 into the open position and at least one ring-seal 12 to be deformed elastically by the passage of the plug 8 to seal the gap between the housing and the plug. The seal 12 is held in an annular groove 19 and tapers in thickness towards a small central hole through which the plug 8 passes. The plug is retained on the housing by a cap-nut 9. The valve 4 has lengthened guiding-pins 11 through which the air flows freely when the cone 15 is pushed off its seating.
