Abstract

1,140,964. Compartmental containers; container closures. G. SCHWARTZMAN. 24 Oct., 1966 [25 April, 1966], No. 47512/66. Headings B8D and B8T. [Also in Division A4] In a combined pad applicator and bottle, used as a two part storage container, a stretched polythene membrane 60 separates the stored materials A, B and a spike 64, integral with a valve body 36, can be made to pierce the membrane 60 and release the material A, such as a hair-dye, into the material'B, such as a solvent. Gasket 54 is retained above the rim of lip 26, during storage. Pressure on pad 20 forces the gasket through the supply opening and it thereafter seals the opening by engaging the underside of lip 26, under the pressure of spring 32. The valve body 36, spring 32 and spike 64 are integrally moulded from polythene or polyurethane.
