Abstract

1,136,110. Applicators for cosmetics; container closures. D. AVONI. 11 Feb., 1966 [11 Feb., 1965], No. 6149/66. Headings B8D and B8T. A container for cosmetics has a cylindrical casing 1 open at its upper end but hermetically sealed by means of a closure member 2 screwed on to the casing 1 and including a sheath 10 through which passes the stem 9 of a brush 8 integral with a closure cap 4 screw-threaded to an upstanding portion 3 forming the upper end of the sheath 10. The lower end of the sheath 10 scrapes excess liquid from the brush as the brush is withdrawn. The cap 4 may be held on by a spring clip (5), Fig. 1 (not shown), or a bayonet joint, Fig. 3 (not shown). The brush may be formed on a ball, Fig. 6 (not shown), a cup being provided below the brush for charging it. An air valve may be provided to assist in filling the container. The sheath (10) may be screw-threaded (at 34) to the inside of the casing (1), Fig, 7 (not shown), a cap (18) having a skirt (32) received in a slot (33) of the sheath.
