Abstract

835,862. Containers for liquids; stoppers. DUPLI-COLOR PRODUCTS CO. Inc. July 1, 1958 [Feb. 17, 1958], No. 21077/58. Classes 66 and 125(3). A container for liquid, e.g. paint, comprises a tubular casing 10 one end of which is closed and the other end of which has an insert 13 for receiving a cap 11 having an applicator, e.g. a brush 19, extending into the casing 10, the insert 13 having a passage with a wiping surface for removing excess liquid from the applicator. The casing 10 is of aluminium and the cap 11 of synthetic plastics material, e.g. polyethylene or "Bakelite" (Registered Trade Mark). The cap 11 has an end plug 12 carrying a further applicator, for applying a rubbing compound carried in a chamber 25 in the cap. The insert 13 may receive the cap 11 as a push fit. The tapered stem 22 of the cap 11 forms a seal with the neck 15 of the insert 13. An agitator 27 is provided in the casing. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the bore of the insert has ribs for wiping the applicator and the cap may have corresponding ribs to form a push fit therewith.
