Abstract

112,261. Standard Motor Construction Co. (Assignees of Smith, B. C.). Dec. 15, 1916, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Four-stroke-cycle engines.-Hot rich mixture and cool air or other comburant are admitted into the cylinder through separate ports in the correct proportions tor forming a combustible mixture. The rich mixture is furnished by a carburettor 15 supplied with heavy fuel, and is heated in a tube 12 having a helical passage and surrounded by the exhaust passage 14. The mixture pipe 11 and the air pipe 7 are provided with control valves 18, 8 and lead to inlet valves 9, 5. Light fuel may be used at starting.
