Abstract
1,115,227. Concrete roof or floor beams. W. W. FRANTZ and J. M. NICHOLAS. 4 June, 1965 [5 June, 1964], No. 23956/65. Heading E1W. [Also in Division B5] A reinforced truss deck comprises a pair of spaced apart substantially parallel joint sections 68, 70, connected by a reinforcing web 72 about which a slab of concrete is cast. The top chord of each joint section comprises sloping extensions 76; 82 which removable carry end members 88, 92 for locating the plurality of trusses end to end in a mould. A groove is formed by a suitable insert in the mould (see Figs. 13 and 17), along each edge of the concrete slab so that when arranged side-byside the bared ends of webs 72 of adjacent truss decks 96 may be welded together as at 100 and 102 to form a large unit.
