Abstract
The building structure uses a standard prefabricated wall panels (7) in concrete, fixed to a floor slab by vertical tie bars (9). The bars also retain roof frames (24). Longitudinally slotted box sections (3) are embedded flush in an in situ concrete ring beam (2), locating on wall centre lines with the slot in the visible face. These receive the hammer head bases (10) of the bars (9) positioned at vertical wall panel joints. Half round vertical grooves in wall panel ends form vertical holes (8) accommodating ties which extend for 50 mm or so above the tops of the panels (7). A channel section (15, 16) houses the top edges of the panels, traversed by the ties which are secured by nuts (H) on threaded ends (12). The ties traverse 'U' shaped plates (19, 20) to which roof frames (24) are bolted (23).
