Abstract
111,123. Razetto, C. Sept. 15, 1916. Arrangements of springs with mountings complete in themselves.-Relates to spring suspensions for motor and other vehicles of the kind comprising adjustable torsional springs arranged transversely of the vehicle and connected by arms to the wheel axle. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, two systems of coil springs 3 are provided for each pair of wheels, the inner ends of the springs being secured by adjusting-screws 12' to a core 5 fixed to the vehicle frame 13, and the outer ends being secured to sleeves 2 connected by arms 1 to links 7 attached to the wheel axle A. The spring systems may be placed near together, in which case the links 7 are attached to arms projecting from the axle A. In a modification, shown in Figs. 4 and 6, only one system of springs is provided for each pair of wheels, the inner ends of the springs 3 being attached to clutch members 4 engaging a clutch member 15 secured to a core 5, and the outer ends being attached to sleeves 2; the sleeves 2 are secured to arms 1<a> and the outer ends of the core 5 to arms 1, the arms 1 and 1<a> being coupled by links 7 to arms 6 on the axle A. Tubular protecting- sleeves 14 may be secured to the sleeves 2.
