817,689. Road-vehicle spring-suspensions. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURGNURNBERG A. G. April 25, 1956 [May 27, 1955], No. 12704/56. Class 108(2) A motor vehicle has one or more pneumatic springs 6 for each. road wheel, the latter being guided by a transverse link 2. According to the invention, each spring 6 is arranged at the end of a separate transversely disposed lever 5, the other end of which is rotatable with the link 2 about the axis of rotation of the latter, but is releasable independently of the link 2. As shown a through axle 1 is carried by transversely disposed links 2, 3, the link 3 being directly connected to the axle 1 and the link 2 being connected to the axle 1 through an intermediate link 4. The links 2, 3 are mounted by means of resilient bushings 9 on respective longitudinal frame members 10. Links 5, 5, in splined engagement with respective end faces of the link 2 are also in rubber bush connection with the respective member 10 and at their outer ends bear on the underside of pneumatic or coiled suspension springs 6, 6. Similar links 5, 5, are associated with the link 3. The members 10 serve to connect the transverse frame members 11 of a self-supporting vehicle body (not shown). The members 10, as shown, are of circular cross-section, but they may be of box shape. In a modified construction (Fig. 3, not shown) the links 2, 3, and 5, are journalled in a unitary auxiliary beam which is adapted to be secured to the members 10.
