Springs, arrangement of; axle attachments.- In the spring suspension described in the parent Specification, the elastic connecting members disposed between the axles and the springs comprise intermediate members so arranged as to cause the elastic members, when transmitting forces in a plane parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, to be stressed in tension and compression only, thus minimizing deterioration of the flexible connection. The connection may, for example, consist of an elastic coupling of the " Hardy " or like type. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 2, an annular holder c is secured to the axle tube a, and has radial projections d, in which a rubber ring f is secured by bolts e. A second annular holder g is secured to the ends k of the springs l, and has projections h extending inwards between the projections d and partly overlapping them, the rubber ring f being secured in the holder g by bolts m, which are at the same radial distance from the axle b as the bolts e. The overlapping edges of the projections d, h provide a rigid connection in case of breakage of the elastic connection, as described in Specification 305,921. In a modification, the flexible connections between the projections on the holders c, g consist of links of elastic material, the ends of which are bolted to the projections at equal radial distances from the axle.
