1,109,986. Lamp caps. COMPAGNIE DES LAMPES. 5 Dec., 1966 [13 July, 1966], No. 54435/66. Heading H2E. A plastics lamp cap is screw-threaded and has a plain recess housing a contact strip. In one embodiment, Fig. 1, the recess 8 and contact strip 10 extend longitudinally of the cap 2 and the lower part of the contact 10 may be screwthreaded. The contact 10 is retained by integral lugs 12, 13, which pass through slots in the cap and are bent over to engage its inner wall, and by engagement of its perpendicularlybent lower end 15 in a slot 16. A filament lead (22, Figs. 2 and 3, not shown), which is soldered at 23 to the contact 10, extends through a passage (17) in a boss (9) on the inner wall of the cap. In another embodiment (Figs. 4 and 5, not shown) the contact strip comprises a split ring (28) which is resiliently mounted in a peripheral recess (27) in the lamp cap by engagement of its inwardly-bent free ends (29) in slots (30). In both embodiments the bare contact stud, e.g. 5, which is soldered, e.g. at 6 to a filament lead, has integral lugs which pass through slots in the cap and are bent perpendicularly to engage its inner wall.
