Abstract

1,109,440. Practise ammunition. DYNAMIT NOBEL A.G. 30 April, 1965 [30 April, 1964], No. 18399/65. Heading F3A. A practice cartridge made from synthetic plastics material comprises a case portion 1 formed integrally with and overlapping the rearward end portion of a bullet portion 5, the length of the overlap being less than the thickness of each of the bullet portion and the case portion, whereby separation of the bullet portion from the case portion on firing the cartridge is effected by a shearing action. Annular incisions 12 may further weaken the joint between the case and the bullet. A recess 8 may extend into the bullet. In a modification, Fig. 1 (not shown) a narrow circumferential incision (6) is formed in the bullet so that in effect the bullet has a rearward extension (7) extending into the case portion.
