Abstract
The explosive projectile has a round casing contg. the charge, which is fired by a fuse detecting proximity of a target. Means are provided for flattening the casing along a peripheral sector, with others detecting the direction of the target in relation to the projectile axis, so as to form the flattened portion opposite the target. These work in conjunction with a time delay, so that flattening takes place before the charge is fired. The charge can include a compressible material, or a malleable explosive substance, typically of the granular trimethylene-trinitramine type combined with polyurethane-type plastic resin.
