Abstract

1,109,394. Carton closures. BOWATER PACKAGING Ltd. 25 July, 1966 [11 Aug., 1965], No. 34376/65. Heading B8P. The end closure of a carton, erected from the blank shown in Fig. 1 by adhering flaps 6, 24 to flaps 4, 13, respectively, is effected by folding the flap 10 over the flap 11 and inserting tongues 21 through slits 22, flap 11 overlying both flaps 12 and 13. Formation of the end closure may be performed manually or mechanically and the blank may be made from fibrous sheet, e.g. paperboard. The tongue and slits may be V-shaped in outline.
