Abstract

966,033. Cartons. HUGH STEVENSON & SONS Ltd., J. H. HILLS, and E. LEES. Sept. 19, 1962 [Sept. 27, 1961], No. 34706/61. Heading B8P. A cardboard carton for chocolate eggs is formed from a single blank composed of three rectangular apertured panels 1 and each of two opposite ends of the blank is extended to form further panels 15 and 16 which on assembly constitute the fourth panel. The three panels and further panels are extended at one of their ends to form flaps 7 and 8 which provide self-locking partial end closures and at their other end to form closure flaps 5. The panels have crease lines 10 which may extend diagonally of the panels so that on assembly one end of the package may be turned through 90 degrees with respect to the other end, see Fig. 2. The apertures 3 of the panels may be symmetrically formed about the inclined crease lines to provide a hollow carton.
