Abstract
1,108,528. Lifting-dogs. DEEWELD Ltd. 8 Feb., 1967 [11 March, 1966], No. 10731/66. Addition to 1,071,759. Heading B8H. A lifting-dog has a movable jaw 19 which in addition to being pulled into engagement with a load inserted in a horizontal slot 14 by a lifting ring 10 and a link 22 is urged into engagement with the load by a spring 28 attached to the link at 29. A cam 24, pivoted at 25 between plates 13, and rotated by a handle 26 holds the jaw 19 in the open position by holding the link 22 down against the spring 28. The link 22 is attached to the lifting ring 10 by a pin 11 which slides in inclined slots 12 in the plates 13. The lever 26 may be remotely operated.
