Abstract

1345292 Clamps UDDEMANN BYGGTEKNIK AB 10 Feb 1972 [10 Feb 1971] 6317/72 Heading E2B A gripping device for use with an elongated load-carrying element, e.g. a wire cable 2 comprises a body 1 within which are mounted clamping jaws 3 which are biassed into the engagement position shown by means of springs 8 interposed on studs 5 between an end piece 7 and the jaws 3, said jaws 3 being movable into a position of disengagement by means consisting of a sleeve 9 to which operating arms 10 are releasably attached, the sleeve 9 being movable upwardly to abut the bottom of the jaws 3 by upward movement of the arms 10 each in a slot (12), Fig. 2 (not shown) of a guide 11, the operating arms 10 being latched to the body 1 in the position of disengagement of the jaws 3 by rotation of the arms 10 about the axis of sleeve 9 into a slot (13) of the guide 11 which has a shoulder 14 which prevents the arm 10 from accidentally swinging out of the slot (13). A detachable plate 15 also prevents movement of the arms 10 from either of their two positions in the slots (12) (13).
