Abstract

1,065,471. Lifting slings. GÍTEBORGS BANDVAVERI A.B. Jan. 31, 1966 [Feb. 27, 1965], No. 4167/66. Heading B8H. A webbing strap sling 1 for lifting stacks of bags has a ring 10, through which that end of the sling which is attached to a lifting device is passed, and a spring-loaded lever 13, which, when the sling is loaded, traps the sling between one of its ends 14 and the inside of the ring. In its operative position the lever 13 lies completely within the profile of the ring 10. A pivoted lever 17 is provided for releasing the sling by depressing the end 15 of the lever 13. Instead of using a spring 12 inside the lever 13 the arms of the lever may be of resilient material and the pivot 11 may be contoured to urge the lever into operative position. The lever 17 may be spring-loaded to assist in moving the lever 13 into its operative position.
