Abstract

329,439. Boase, W. H. March 21, 1929. Cleats. - A selfholding fastener for forming the loop of a sling, band, strap, or the like of the kind in which the rope, &c. runs freely in one direction but is held by a wedge against reverse movement, comprises a frame 1 secured to one end of the sling rope as at 10, and a pivoted member 4 which grips the other end of the rope against a roller 2 in the frame. The end of the member 4 may be serrated, and the member may be held towards the roller by a spring. Movement of the member 4 away from the roller may be limited by a stop.
