[Class 44] [Also in Group VII] A fastening device for laces, straps and the like comprises two parts, one part 1, Fig. 1, in the form of a loop, e.g. of wire having an opening 2 and the other part 3, Fig. 2, having a cross-piece 5 over which the free end of the cord 10, Fig. 4, is drawn, the part 3 adapted to pass through the opening 2 and fastening the cord in the narrow end. In the form of Fig. 8, for fastening strap ends 7, 10, the parts are formed from sheet material. Teeth 12 formed on one end of the part 3 provide a ready releasing means by pulling up the free end of the strap 10 to tip this part through the opening 2. The parts are smooth and rounded where they engage the cord or strap.
