Class 44 In a friction-grip buckle comprising a body having two parallel side walls 1, 2 connected by a transverse bar 3 at or near one end, the walls being slotted to receive the ends of a slide plate 9, between which and the bar 3 the belt 12 is gripped, the plate 9 has a finger-grip 11 formed by bending down a central part thereof. The plate 9 has an indented flange 10 which co-operates with a step 4 on the bar 3 to grip the belt.
