Abstract

601,507. Fastenings for handbags, brief cases, &c. NAGLER, M, Oct. 18, 1945, No. 27390. [Class 44] A fastening for handbags, brief cases &c. comprises a tab 1 of leather, provided with a transverse slot 2 at one end 3 and with a tail 4 reduced in width so that it can be passed through the slot, the tab being attached to the bag between the slot and the tail. In the form shown in Fig. 2 the tab is stitched at 8 to the body 7 of the bag, the cover 5 having a slot 6 which, in the closed position, registers with the slot 2. The end 4 is bent up and inserted through the registering slots. Fig. 6 shows the tab stitched at 9 to the cover 5 of the bag and the body 7 provided with a loop 10 through which the slotted part 3 of the tab is passed, the end 4 being bent down and passed through the slot 2.
