Abstract
650,356. Brief-cases; portfolios. GARSTIN & CO., Ltd., A., and WERFF, H. H. J. VAN DER. Oct. 7, 1948, No. 26203. [Class 133] On the inner face of the front or back wall 10 or 11, or on one of the intermediate partitions 12, 13 of a portfolio or brief-case is fitted a pocket the upper edge of which is substantially level with the top edge of said wall or partition, whilst a leather strap or tape 20 is attached to one wall of the pocket intermediate the ends of the pocket, extends downwardly and then upwardly adjacent the opposite wall of the pocket to form a bend in which a number of visiting cards can be supported, these cards being movable, from a position in which they are wholly accommodated in the pocket to a position in which their upper parts project above the pocket, by pulling on the free end of the strap or tape. The pocket may be formed by a channel-shaped piece of leather 18 the side flanges of which are sewn to the wall or partition. The strap or tape may be fixed by the stud portion 21 of a press-stud fastener, the socket portion 22 of which is carried by the free end of the strap or tape so that the latter may enclose the cards.
