Abstract

709,133. Buckles. STEELS & BUSKS, Ltd. Aug. 5, 1952 [Aug. 27, 19511, No. 20152/51. Class 43 In a buckle slide of the kind used for the adjustable securement of a supporting ribbon or tape, e.g. a shoulder strap, and comprising an intermediate cross-bar around which the adjustable length of the strap is looped, and a bottom bar around which a second length of strap is wrapped and its ends attached to the garment, each side 4, 5 has a tongue or lug 11' projecting inwardly, and downwardly therefrom for co-operation with an upwardly convex portion 10 of the bottom bar 3 to prevent the strap from slipping laterally into one corner. In addition the end portions of the upper edge of the bottom bar below the tongues 11 are inclined upwardly and outwardly to form inclined slots 14. In the example the buckle has two intermediate cross-bars 6 and 7 respectively, with their outer edges straight and at right-angles to the sides 4, 5 and their adjacent confronting edges 8, 9 oppositely concave.
