Abstract

622,635. Friction-grip fastenings. SMITH & CO., Ltd., W. A., and SMITH, W. A. Feb. 6, 1945, No. 2989. [Class 44] [Also in Group VII] A friction-grip fastening for the ends of braces for overalls &c. comprises an outer casing 9 open at both ends for the passage of the brace strap 1, a cam surface 10 on the casing adjacent one open end, and an inner clamping member 19, slidably mounted in the casing, slotted to permit the passage of the brace therethrough, and with the edge of the inner member opposing the cam surface provided with teeth, serrations or the like. Movement of the inner member to grip or enclose the strap is limited by lugs 25 thereon which project through a slot 17 in the outer casing. The rear-portions 12 of the outer casing 9 are looped to engage a button-holding loop 14.
