[Class 44] A quick release fastener for connecting articles such as a landing net to belts and other personal equipment, comprises a grooved peg or stud h, Fig. 3, secured to the landing net and a fastener body a attached to the equipment. The fastener body a formed with two end walls a<SP>1</SP>, a<SP>2</SP>, and an intermediate wall a<SP>3</SP>, is provided with a spring latch o which is slidable between walls a<SP>2</SP> and a<SP>3</SP>, and has a head o<SP>1</SP> terminating in a button r, and a tail o<SP>2</SP> around which a spring o<SP>3</SP> is coiled. Co-axial apertures l, m, g, are formed in walls a<SP>1</SP>, a<SP>3</SP>, a<SP>2</SP>, respectively, latch o having a normally eccentric aperture p. On pressing the stud h into the fastener body, its conoidal end h<SP>3</SP> depresses latch o to align aperture p with the stud, the latch thereafter springing upwards to engage the groove in the stud, and then moves a plunger s sliding in apertures l, m, against the action of its spring t. When the button r is depressed, the stud h is released and plunger s automatically ejects the stud. Lugs f, Fig. 1, are formed integral with the end wall a<SP>1</SP> for attaching the fastener body to the equipment, the stud h being attached to the landing net by means of a split ring and chain loop k ; by forming the stud with flanges to take screws, or by providing a screwed shank on the stud.
