Abstract

844,490. Pliers and wrenches. WYNN TIMMINS & CO. Ltd. Jan 19, 1959 [Jan. 23, 1968], No. 2249/58. Class 61. [Also in Group XXV] Pliers or wrenches have a pivot c, Fig. 4, with flat faces c4 slidable along an elongated slot a5 in one of the jaws when fully open, the slot having circular formations a3 at its extremities and curved recesses a4, a6 disposed along its length for alternative engagement with the curved faces c3, Fig. 4, of the stud c1. Each recess a4, a6 is disposed opposite a flat face a7 on the other side of the slot against which the other curved face c3 of the stud engages when the jaws are moved towards the closed position. The stud has a square section end cl so that it may be held against rotation in one jaw.
