Abstract

1443401 Hand tools STANLEY TOOLS Ltd 27 March 1975 [3 April 1974] 14873/74 Headings B4W and B4B A hand tool, e.g. a pair of anvil-type secateurs has its handles urged apart by an arcuate leaf spring 23 having reversely curved end portions, the spring being arranged in a cavity in one of the handles so as to abut a closed end of the cavity and a concave portion of the other handle the convex side of the spring facing away from the other handle. Surfaces 19, 20 of the cavity locate the spring in position. The secateurs have a pin and collar locking device 24 for locking the tool in the closed position of the jaws.
