Abstract

1,138,232. Clamps. SEKIDEN KAGAKU KOGYO CO. Ltd. 5 April, 1966, No. 14994/66. Heading E2B. A clip device comprises a pair of pivotally connected members 1, 2 having jaws at 14, 14<SP>1</SP> at one end thereof for engagement with an article to be clipped, one member having an integrally formed inwardly extending male element closed at its end remote from said one member which engages an integrally formed inwardly extending female element of said other member, lugs 8 on said female element in contact with said male element engaging the closed end 9 of said male element the male and female elements cooperating to provide pivotal movement between the member to permit opening and closure of said jaws and means 16 biassing the jaws into engagement with one another. In the construction shown each jaw includes a friction element 15, 15<SP>1</SP> which assist in gripping articles fitted between the jaws. The biassing means 16 is a generally V shaped spring fitted between the members to urge the jaws together, said spring having one end in engagement with an inwardly extending lip 26 formed at the end of one said' member remote from the jaw thereof and the other end of said spring extending through an aperture formed in an inwardly extending lip 26<SP>1</SP> formed at the end of the other member remote from the jaws thereof which other end of said spring includes a hook portion 20 for engagement with a support member 30.
