Abstract

1,102,661. Mechanical garages. SCHœCHTERMANN & KREMER-BAUM A.G. FœR AUFBEREITUNG. 17 Feb., 1965 [3 April, 1964; 17 Aug., 1964], No. 6913/65. Heading B8E. A multi-storey garage comprises a lift 1, Fig. 1, for transporting the cars on pallets 5 between the parking spaces 3 and an entrance a and an exit b, the pallets being moved into and out of the lift 1 by friction wheels engaging their underside. The lift 1 has movably disposed thereon a carriage 4 for parking cars adjacent one another on either side of the liftshaft 2. The pallets 5 run on castors 6. At the entrance a are provided friction wheels 8 mounted on pivoted arms 9, the wheels being driven by an electric motor 10 and the arms 9 being connected to an electrical adjusting device 11 for biasing the wheels 8 against the pallets; the latter may be tilted to test the car brakes. The carriage 4 has stationary friction wheels 12, 12<SP>1</SP>, 12<SP>11</SP> and pivotally mounted friction wheels 13, 13<SP>1</SP> movable by devices 14, 14<SP>1</SP>; all the friction wheels are driven through chain drives by an electro motor 16. The carriage 4 is moved relative to the lift 1 by a driven gearwheel 20 engaging a rack 21 on the lift, Fig. 2. The carriage 4 may be omitted, the friction wheels being then disposed on the lift. Friction wheels 23 are provided at the exit 6. Each pallet comprises U-sectioned side members 102, Fig. 3, forming tracks for the car wheels, each member 102 being formed by compression moulding or folding and having flanges 103, 104, the flanges 103 being interconnected by a plate 105. The pallets are reinforced by transverse ribs 106 and tie-rods 107 and by longitudinal U-sections 108 which form the tracks for the friction wheels. Each pallet 7 has four castors made of a synthetic resin material or having rubber tyres. The parking spaces 3 have rails 112 in which the castors run. Oil and water dripping from the cars drain through spouts 115 into the rails 112 which lead to drain pipes 116, 117.
