Abstract

1,074,562. Silencers. WALKER MANUFACTURING CO. June 19, 1964 [June 25, 1963], No. 25447/64. Heading F1B. A resonator space 5, Fig. 1, is connected to the gas flow tube 7 by a throat 35 formed by a channel 23 formed in the tube wall covered by a cap 29. The cap 29 may be provided with holes or louvres to broaden the band of frequencies silenced. In Fig. 7 (not shown) the opening (309) between the tube (305) and the channel is formed at an intermediate point to form two throats (313), (315), leading to separate resonance chambers (321), (323).
