[Class 7 (ii)] In an air intake or exhaust silencer, a series of chambers 41, 42 ... resonating at different frequencies, is formed by baffles radiating from a perforated pipe 1, 2 through which the air or gases pass. The chambers may extend the full length of the casing, or as shown, be divided by baffles 6, 6. The pipe 1, 2 may be eccentric to the casing.
