Abstract

1,069,552. Steam generators. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. March 12, 1965. [March 12, 1964], No. 10713/65. Heading F4A. In a once-through steam boiler having a combustion chamber 1 of which the walls are formed by evaporator tubes which wind upwardly about the combustion chamber, the tubes forming the front and side walls, 10, 9, 11 are arranged horizontally or slightly inclined and are suspended by connecting members (40, Fig. 1) on vertical U-tubes 15 through which the working medium flows after leaving vertical portions 14 of the evaporator tubes which extend upwardly above and support by further connecting members the tubes forming the rear wall 8 of the combustion chamber. The uppermost band of the latter tubes are bent over as shown at 13. The connecting members are vertical elongate members of constant T- or U-section presenting flat sides to the evaporator tubes which are wel ded together in groups The evaporator tubes wind about the combustion up to about two thirds of its height. The developed diagram, Fig. 3, also shows final evaporators 16, 161 which are arranged at the front and rear sides of a second flue, a superheater section 17 bent to form a constriction in the combustion chamber, a second superheater section 19 extending over the top and part of the front wall of the combustion chamber and above a transverse flue leading to the second flue, a third superheater section 20 arranged adjacent the U-tubes 15, and a final superheater section 21 arranged in the transverse flue. Water injection points 18, 22 are also provided. Economizer and other tubes 26-31 are supported in the second flue.
