Abstract

1382337 Water-tube steam boiler WAAGNER-BIRO AG 12 April 1972 [26 April 1971] 16976/72 Heading F4A A water tube steam boiler comprises a furnace chamber 15 and a flue 2, there being a radiant superheater 1 at the upstream end of the flue, and further heat exchange surfaces, such as a convection superheater 3 and a coiled tube economizer 4, located in the flue vertically below the superheater 1. The walls of the chamber 15 are provided by or lined with vertical finned evaporator tubes 9, those forming rear wall 16 of the chamber also forming front wall 6 of the flue, some of the tubes of this wall passing in front of the superheater 1 and others being bent to form a grid 5 between it and the superheater 3. The tubes 9 are connected by fins (10), Figs. 6, 7 (not shown), there being wider fins (11) on the tubes forming rear wall 7 of the flue, through which pass feed pipes 12, 13, 14 of the heaters 3, 4. The heaters 3, 4 are supported by brackets (8), Figs. 2-4 (not shown), either directly or by tie rods (21).
