Abstract

1,049,905. Display cartons. ALF COOK Ltd. Nov. 1, 1965 [Aug. 1, 1964], No. 31643/64. Heading B8P. A carton for holding and displaying a paste tube, bottle etc. is formed from a blank having a centre panel 1 to which are hinged side panels 2 and end panels 3, one opposed pair at least of which has hinged thereto article-supporting panels 4 with glue flaps 5 for gluing to the centre panel in such positions that the blank can remain flat when glued, but when erected said article-supporting panels form inclined sides of a trough, Figs. 2-4 (not shown), and support an article when the latter is pressed into the trough and snapped into engagement with article-retaining portions 7, 11 of the carton. In a modification, Figs. 6-8 (not shown) the article-supporting panels 24 support the bottom and top of the article, having press-out tabs 24A, 24B for receiving said ends, and the end panels 23 have extensions 26 which form longer trough sides to support the articles and interconnected by tongue 27A and slot 28A on flaps 27, 28 respectively. In a further modification, Figs. 9-12 (not shown), side panels 32 are held erect by wing flaps 30 which interlock across the ends. The article-supporting panels 34 are slit so that their end portions project further inwards than the rest.
