Abstract

1,023,967. Bridge crane. DEMAG A.G. April 6, 1964 [April 11, 1963], No. 4187/64. Heading B8B. A bridge crane runs on a pair of rails and the horizontal bridge girder is connected to a vertical leg 15 of the bridge by tapered roller bearings 3 so as to permit play between the leg and the girder. Thus the bridge girder 1 carries shoes 2 which engage with rollers 3 carried by shoes 4 secured on leg 5. Each roller 3 is carried by a shaft 9 secured to hub 8 carried by bridge 1; and the hub engages pivot pin 6 which is secured to leg 5 and is carried rotatably at 7 by said pin. In this way rotational movement in two planes is permitted between the girder and the leg. The movement about the pin 6 is transmitted at 11 by gears to indicator 12.
