Abstract
788,085. Crane &c. posts. ETABLISSEMENTS BOILOT-PETOLAT. Dec. 9, 1955 [Dec. 16, 1954], No. 35374/55. Class 20(1) [Also in Group XXX] The mast 1 of a tower crane is formed of a number of superposed standard sections and a slewing bearing 5 interposed partway up the tower is arranged so that a structure 7, 8 comprisin a jib and counter jib may be slid over the lower sections of the tower, across the gap left by the slewing bearing 5, to the upper portion of the tower where it is secured to the section 6. Fish plates bolted temporarily between the sections 4 and 6 may form continuations of guides on the sections on which rollers 9 may run. The sections of the mast may be placed one on top of the other by a jib crane which can be mounted on the sliding carriage 2 in place of the jib 7 and counter jib 8 and which extends above the section to which it is temporarily secured so that it may be used to place a further section above. The tower may form part of a merry-go-round or revolving light-house or other structure.
