Abstract

1286610 Tower cranes RICHIER 19 April 1971 [22 Jan 1970] 20211/71 Heading B8B A tower crane has an upper part rotatable about a vertical axis from which a carriage jib comprising a main fixed beam 7 and a relatively movable secondary beam 8 extends, a counterweight jib 4 extending in the opposite direction, the secondary beam 8 being movable relative to the main beam 7 by means of a cable 24 connected to a winch 22, a further cable 25 extending from the winch 22 around pulley sets 28a, 28b to be anchored at 29 to the jib 4, the pulley set 28b being connected to one side of a counterweight 5 whose other side is connected to pulleys 30 such that each movement in one direction of the secondary jib 8 produces a proportionate movement in the opposite direction of the counterweight 5 thus equalizing the moments.
