Abstract

1432464 Jib cranes SAM P WALLACE CO Inc and J J BREWER 16 June 1973 28726/73 Heading B8B A crane, particularly for erecting a building structure 223, comprises a base formed by a climbing support 25 with lifting lugs 213 on lower members 211 in the embodiment shown. The support 25 is bolted through clips 215 to I-beams 221 serving as vertical guides and bolted to brackets 222 on the structure 223. A boom 21 is pivotally secured at its lower end 22 to a horizontally-slidable, boom base plate 45 on a 360 degree rotatable boom platform 23 supported on a carrier ring 24 on the support 25. An extension platform 33 is pivotally connected at 133 to the platform 23 to provide a base for a movable counterweight 34. Load, luffing and whip lines 40, 100, 123, respectively, pass centrally through the structure 25 to the boom 21, which is positioned as required with respect to the ring 24 before use.
