Abstract

The crane has folding main and tailweight jibs and a constant-length tie rope between the tailweight jib and the slewing superstructure. Means are included for taking up the slack in the tie rope when not in use, typically in the form of a cross-beam sliding up and down inside the larger tower section and to which the tie rope is attached, a stop inside the tower section concerned limiting upward movement of the cross-member. The tie rope can be reeved round a first pulley on the superstructure, a second one at the tower base and a third one inside the tower section and above the stop. An auxiliary pulley to the right of the first pulley supports the tie rope when the crane is completely folded.
