Abstract
967,911. Telescopic tower cranes. ETABLISSEMENTS F. POTAIN & CIE. March 19, 1963 [March 23, 1962], No. 10753/63. Heading B8B. The telescopic tower 2, 3, Fig. 1, of a tower crane is extended by a winch 6 and a cable 4 which extends from a point 4b, on top of the lower section of the tower, round pulleys 9b, 9a, 8, the winch 6 and a pulley 7 on the counter-jib 1b, to a point 4a on the base 5. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 3 the winch 6 is replaced by a freely rotatable pulley 11 and the tower is telescoped by any known means. In each embodiment the jib remains horizontal during raising and lowering and the cable 4 provides a counter-balancing moment.
