Abstract

1282847 Tower crane RICHIER 19 April 1971 [13 Feb 1970] 21748/71 Heading B8B A tower crane comprises a load carriage jib 4 rigidly fixed to the upper part 2 of the tower, a counterweight jib 6 hingedly connected at 8 to the said upper part on which a counterweight 7 is movably mounted, ties 11, 14 connecting the jibs 4, 6 to the top 12 of a strut 9 which is hingedly mounted at 10 to the jib 4. In modifications, Figs. 2-5 (not shown), more than one tie extends from the carriage jib 4 to the strut 9. In further modifications, Figs. 6, 4 (not shown), the counterweight (71) is fixed relative to its jib (70), equilibrium being effected by movement of the jib in a vertical plane. The upper tower part 2 is rotatable on the lower tower section 1.
