Abstract

590,009. Travelling cranes. KING, Ltd., G. W., and KING, D. M. Nov. 13, 1944, No. 19814. [Class 78(iv)] [Also in Group XXXII] A crane, hoist, crab, or the like having two or more flanged wheels 11, 12 arranged to run on laterally spaced track rails 13, 14 respectively, has each wheel or pair of wheels 11 arranged to provide the minimum running clearance between the wheel flanges and the sides of the rail, each wheel or pair of wheels 12 being arranged to provide a relatively greater clearance between the wheel flanges and the sides of the rail. The crab comprises a rectangular frame structure 10 in which are journalled end pairs of track wheels of double flange type. The relatively greater clearance is provided by increasing the spacing between the wheel flanges.
