Abstract

907,399. Overhead-travelling cranes. SOC. DES FORGES ET ATELIERS DU CREUSOT. April 14, 1960 [April 16, 1959], No. 13405/60. Class 78 (4). An overhead travelling-crane has at least two crabs 18, 19, the lower one, 19, of which can pass beneath the upper one. The upper crab runs on rails 12 supported on girders 1, 2 which themselves move along rails on bogies 5. The crab 19 runs on rails 13 mounted on girders 8, 9, which are attached to the girders 1, 2 by pins 6. A cross-member is provided between adjacent ends of the girders 8, 9, each cross-member comprising two halves joined together at 11. To facilitate transport the rectangular frame formed by the girders 8, 9 and the two crossmembers may be detached from the girders 1, 2 by removing pins 6 and the frame split into two halves at the joints 11. The whole crane is moved by driving the bogies attached to one of the girders 1, 2 only.
