Abstract

942,233. Box girders. MALCUS HOLMQUIST A.B. March 9, 1962 [March 10, 1961], No. 9084/62. Heading E1K. A box girder is made in two channel section halves each having a top tubular part 6, 7, 8. Each half is bent from metal plate, the top part being bent to form sides 6, 7, 8 of the tube, the side 8 being spot welded to the side 5 of the girder. Internal transverse stiffening plates 13 may be spot welded to the sides and top of the girder, openings 12 being cut in the side 8 to accommodate these plates. The halves are welded together at 3, 4 and a rail 15 for a travelling crane is welded centrally on top of the girder.
