Abstract

852,330. Bridge cranes. INSTITUT FUR FORDERTECHNIK DE MINISTERIUMS FUR SCHWERMASCHINENBAU. Oct. 3, 1956, No. 30122/56. Class 78 (4). The bridge for an overhead crane, shown in section in Fig. 1, is of stressed skin construction and almost completely surrounds the crab 11, all the electrical and mechanical parts of the crab being located within the bridge. In the form shown the sides 1 and roof 17 are joined by plates- 6, 7 and stiffened at intervals by members 2, 3, 16, 8 and 18. Rails 5 carry a crab 12 with underslung hoisting gear 11 pivoted at 13 and limited in sideways movement by rollers 14 which bear against members 15. Gangways 4 provide easy access to the hoisting and traversing gear for maintenance.
