Abstract

1313828 Jib cranes G FUCHS and U THIERER 14 Jan 1972 [14 Jan 1971] 1841/72 Heading B8B A mobile jib crane, Fig. 1 (not shown), has its jib (5) mounted for luffing on an upper carriage 3 slewed by a ring gear 2. The jib (5) is luffed by a pair of rams (16), (16a) the cylinder bodies 15, 15a of which are supported by respective rollers 12, 12a running on a ring 17 mounted on the chassis 1. The rollers 12, 12a are carried by forks 11, 11a attached to square members 9, 9a freely, but non-rotatably, mounted for axial movement in square apertures 8, 8a in projections 7, 7a of the upper carriage 3. The rams (16), (16a) are pivoted through bearing pins 14, 14a to the members 9, 9a at ball joints 13, 13a. The two members 9 may be replaced by a single bolt (not shown) or the jib (5) may be mounted on the members 9, 9a.
