Abstract

A shipboard crane includes two jibs (50), (51) consisting of respective (DE) inner arms (50a), (51a) and respective outer arms (50b), (51b) the inner arms being slewably mounted, by way of a four track, annular, ball or roller bearing, on a common supporting column (42) fixed to the hull and the outer arms being slewably mounted at their inner ends on the outer ends of the inner arms and being provided at their outer ends with lifting tackle. The inner arms are mounted on the column so as to be slewable about a common vertical axis (47) and, in double working of the jibs, the locations of action of the common load on the jibs are at equal radii from the axis and at an equal height. <IMAGE>
