265,900. Souness, T. Sept. 2. 1926. Jib cranes.-Relates to cranes with bifurcated jib straddling the revolving structure or cabin 2. The jib is luffed by a pinion 8, Fig. 1, engaging a rack 3 pivoted to the jib at 4 and sliding in a carriage 5 pivoted on the pinion shaft. In another form, Fig. 2, the jib is luffed by a rotating crank 16 and a connecting rod 15 pivoted at 11 to the junction of links 9, 12 forming a. parallelogram with the lines joining the centres 14, 10 on the jib and the centres 14, 13 on the frame structure.
